![]() Hammond's own South Shore Poster |
The South Shore Campaign, created by the Northwest Indiana Forum to bring attention to the recreational, residential, industrial, and commercial benefits of Northwest Indiana, features new paintings modeled after the historic posters in the 1920's poster series sponsored by the South Shore Line. The new poster series celebrates many Northwest Indiana assets and points of interest with the theme - Just Around the Corner. The story of the original poster campaign, as well as new posters, is featured in the book titled - Moonlight in Duneland by authors Steve McShane and Rob Cohen. The poster pictured above, was created by Hammond artist Bruce Cegur, in the new poster series for the South Shore Campaign. This new poster illustrates the sport of windsurfing on Hammond's picturesque Wolf Lake at Wolf Lake Park, in the city's northern quadrant more often refered to as Robertsdale.
