Hammond can boast having one of the largest inland marinas in the country, sandwiched right between two parks. Lakefront Park to the west of the marina, is a city park with a bathing beach, nature trails and a scenic lake overlook. Whihala Beach is a county owned park just east of the marina and water filtration plant, this park also features a swimming and bathing beach along with a fishing pier and other amenities.
