Area Career Center- See Technical-Vocational High School

Lee L. Caldwell Elementary School- First established as the Parrish School at 173rd Street and Parrish Avenue in 1933. The building was damaged by fire in 1950 and a newly rebuilt school renamed Caldwell was opened in 1950 at 3105 173rd Street. Additions to the present building were made in 1957 and 1961.

Central School- Once one of Hammond's Original permanent school buildings built in 1881 at the southeast corner of Hohman and Fayette. Later moved to Russell Street in 1924 to become Technical-Vocational High School, then demolished when "Tech High School" moves to Sohl Avenue.

George Rogers Clark Junior-High School- Present school at 1921 Davis Avenue was founded in 1932 with an addition made to the building in 1939. Special note- this school was originally founded as the West Park School in 1922 located at 120th Street and Davis Avenue.

Columbia Elementary School- Located at 1238 Michigan Street, the original building was built in 1915, with additions made to it in 1933, 1936 and 1966. A new structure was built in 1975 with the 1966 addition remaining.

Thomas A. Edison Elementary School- Founded in 1920 in a building located at 625 Spruce Street. New structure built at 7025 Madison Avenue in 1937-38, then demolished in 1991. Present structure built in 1992.

Henry W. Eggers Middle School- Built in 1973 at 5825 Blaine Avenue.

Benjamin Franklin Elementary School- Founded in 1902 at 1629 Indianapolis Boulevard, with a new building built in 1976.

Donald E. Gavit Junior-Senior High School- Constructed in 1960 at 1670 175th Street with additions made in 1965 and 1971.

Gibson Elementary School- See Warren G. Harding Elementary School

Hammond High School- Built in 1915 at 5926 Calumet Avenue, addition in 1922. Partially burned in 1967, with additions and renovations finished in 1973. Special note- this school was originally called Hammond Industrial High School.

Warren G. Harding Elementary School- Constructed in 1924 at 3107 Cleveland Street. Replacement structure built in 1949 at 3211 165th Street, with additions made in 1957 and 1961. Special note- this school was preceeded by a temporary Gibson School founded in 1922.

Industrial High School- See Hammond High School

Washington Irving Elementary School- Built at 4727 Pine Street in 1908. New structure built in 1937 with additions made in 1953 and 1968.

Thomas Jefferson Elementary School- Built 6940 Northcote Avenue in 1955, addition made in 1961.

Kenwood Elementary School- First founded at 6411 Moraine Avenue in 1919. New structure built at 6416 Hohman Avenue in 1963, currently undergoing renovations.

Lafayette Elementary School- First founded at Sibley and Calumet in 1890. New structure built at 856 Sibley Street in 1956, with an addition in 1971.

Lincoln Elementary School- One of Hammond's oldest schools founded in 1887 at Gostlin and Johnson Avenue. Replacement structure built in 1923 at 4221 Towle Avenue, addition made in 1953. Current building built in 1981/1953.

Maywood Elementary School- First established at Tapper and Merrill in 1918. New building built in 1927 with a 1966 addition. Current structure built in 1994 at 1001 165th Street.

Roland B. Miller Elementary School- Built in 1965 at 6530 New Hampshire Avenue. Closed in 1977.

Oliver P. Morton Elementary/Middle School- Originally belonged to Hessville, became part of the Hammond School System in 1921. New building built in 1937 at 7040 Marshall Avenue, addition in 1952. New structure built in 1992.

Oliver P. Morton High School- Built in 1967 at 6915 Grand Avenue.

Orchard Drive Elementary School- Built in 1966 at 3640 Orchard Drive.

Parrish School- See Lee L. Caldwell Elementary School

Gene Stratton Porter Elementary School- First established at 7044 Wicker Avenue in 1929. New building built at 2321 171st Street in 1950. Closed in 1977. Special note- now part of Purdue Calumet Campus.

James Whitcome Riley Elementary School- Built in 1954 at 1245 River Drive North, addition in 1961.

Riverside Elementary School- First founded in 1890 at Calumet and Michigan. New structure built in 1961 at 741 Michigan Street. Closed in 1977. Demolished in the early 1990's

Charles M. Scott Middle School- Built in 1971 at 3635 173rd Street.

A. L. Spohn Elementary/Middle School- Built in 1967 at 4925 Sohl Avenue.

Technical-Vocational High School- First founded in 1919. Moved to Russell Street in 1924. New structure built at 5727 Sohl Avenue in 1950, additions made in 1958 and 1971. Closed as a high school in 1982. Now Area Career Center.

Lew Wallace Elementary School- First founded at Calumet and Conkey in 1908. New structure built at 6235 Jefferson Street in 1969.

Washington Elementary School- Founded in 1900 at 71 Williams Street. New structure built in 1968. Closed in 1977. Currently being used as the School City Administration Offices.

Woodrow Wilson Elementary School- Established at 1227 173rd Street in 1906. New structure built in 1948, addition in 1954.

West Park School- See George Rogers Clark School
