This was the scene on Saturday, January 9th, 1999 Here's how it looks one week after the Blizzard of 1999 dumped an incredible 16 to 20 inches on the city, during the New Year's weekend. Over the past week several small weather systems and lake snow squalls deposited an additional 4 to 8 inches, on top of the ever growing piles of snow all across the city. Mini mountain ranges have been created all over town as street crews and businesses clear the roads and parking lots.
