The Hammond Port Authority in Hammond, Indiana, is full of fun things to do for the whole family. This area, located on the shores of Lake Michigan, is a short distance from Chicago by both land and water. All the attractions in this area fit into two square miles and are joined by a pedestrian path, making everything easily accessible.

Hammond Marina offers boat storage and launching, a fuel dock, and even sailing lessons. There is a store and deli at the marina where visitors can purchase boating supplies and food for a day out on the water. The marina’s Clipper Banquet Room is available for rental to host special events. The room offers guests an amazing view of the water, a dance floor, and a full-service bar.

For canoe, kayak, and paddle board rentals, visitors can head to Wolf Lake Memorial Park. Rentals are available everyday for reasonable rates. The lake features a pavilion which hosts many events during the summer months. Right on the shores of Wolf Lake is Forsythe Park, a relaxing place to enjoy views of the water, fishing, and summer Little League games. The shores of Wolf Lake make the perfect place for a picnic. For those who need a place to host a party for a large group, there is a picnic shelter available for rental at the park. The shelter holds up to one-hundred people.


The Lost Marsh Golf Course is a world-class course that surrounds the picturesque George Lake and presents golfers with a view of the Chicago skyline. This scenic course includes an executive course, a driving range, and have a special course just for kids. The clubhouse at Lost Marsh offers a dining area and a pro shop for supplies.
