Here is just one of the many modern inventions sure to make Hammond world famous. The Jones Dishwasher made right here in Hammond. It is expected that in the not to distant future that the dishwasher will be a standard appliance in every apartment or home just as the gas range is. How right they were The Jones Dishwasher Company manufactures many various sizes for use in hotels, restaurants or residential settings. A group of new apartments now being built in the city of Chicago are being outfitted with the new Jones Dishwashers. The Chicago developer who is building the units wanted the latest in modern conveniences, so he ordered a large quantity of the Jones Dishwashers, for which he had to come to Hammond to purchase. Another large order has also been received from a jobber in Minneapolis, with all of this flurry of business it is expected that the plant will be soon taxed to capacity. All of this is good news for the stockholders of the company who just held a meeting on the following evening reporting that business has been brisk. "Every woman knows that dish washing is the most dreaded of all household work. It's not only a tedious job taking from two to three hours a day, but leaves the hands in a chapped and reddened condition.
