Exclusive Manufacturers of the Hygeia Bed Spring
"Now I lay me down to sleep"

symbol of quality

That was the company's ad slogan during the early 1900's. Quite a catch phrase indeed while the firm prospered as an expansive manufacturing business for the city. The Hygeia bed spring was the company's most famous product that was produced in it's plant, which was located in the northern part of town. The factory put out over 250 patterns of link springs, coil springs, woven wire, plus cots, cribs and sanitary couches.

The company's products were well known throughout the country, which helped to promote Hammond as a great manufacturing city. The Enterprise Bed Company also had a complete line of camp furniture and special porch and lawn furniture in addition to it's many spring products. A camp cot which Enterprise made was quite a popular item at this time. It was of durable construction and both rain and insect proof for use in any climate.
